Since I was given my first VTech "Pre-Computer Power Pad" I've been coding away, variously getting frustrated and elated as I've gone through the age-old cycle of creating something, realising it doesn't work, and then spending several hours fixing it.
I started with BASIC on the above pretend computer, and gradually migrated via HTML and friends to a degree in Computer Science where Java was king. Twenty plus years saw me leave and return to the world of code many times as life and work allowed.
This journey led me into the world of enterprise integration architecture, where I've spent the last 18+ years designing solutions that connect complex business systems. As a consultant, I've worked across financial services, telecoms, and other regulated industries, tackling the challenges of making different technologies talk to each other effectively.
Whether I'm architecting cloud transformations for global financial institutions or building my own weekend projects, I'm driven by that same desire I've always had: to create elegant solutions that bridge technical gaps and deliver real value. When I'm not deep in code or architecture diagrams, you'll find me exploring trails, tinkering with IoT projects, or crafting something in my workshop.
